A little while ago I saw a picture being reblogged that said something like “I’m proud of my stripes.”

Personally. I never got why people were so upset about their stretch marks. 

I have them going clear around my middle. They’ve gone from dark to light, but they’re still there. And they are a constant reminder of what I’ve gone through these past 5 years. 

I gained the weight for a reason—pain.
And I’ve changed my life, in a very good way, to lose it. 

I know I’ll never forget those things…But it’s nice to have a badge of courage that will always be there with me.
