Anonymous asked: Sarah! Please help: I'm currently in the process of recovering from surgery and may not be able to work out for another month, maybe more (the surgery was on 4.30). I am growing increasingly frustrated with this because even though I try to stay positive and focus on improving nutrition first, I really miss working out. I can feel my muscle disappearing and I worked so hard to get it :( I feel that I'm bingeing more often because there's no point. I don't know what to do :/

So I got this question yesterday, but wasn’t at my computer and answering questions on my phone is a butt.

Anywho.

Here are my two cents, since you asked. It sounds like you resent not being able to work out (obviously) and because of that you resent having to focus solely on nutrition. And therefore you haven’t been committed.

I’m like that with math. I love Algebra and thrived in the class, but I hate trig and resented having to take it and therefore I didn’t commit myself and was just hostile about it and never put in the effort.

That being said, I think that it’s going to be hard for you to commit to getting your nutrition on point when you’re upset you can’t work out. The work outs will always be there. They don’t go anywhere. And any muscle definition you lose you can always get back. Those shouldn’t be the things you concentrate on or else, as I see it, that resentment is just going to stick around.

This really sounds like a mind over matter situation. Stop resenting that you can’t work out and try focusing on the fact that you have this opportunity to concentrate on your nutrition.

That’s what I would do, so that’s really the best advice that I can give.

Lot of love hun and good luck.
