Hello I love your blog. I want to try all your recipes soon! Let me tell you a quickie story about myself.. before highschool I was never over 100 lbs..this was in 2006. Now I am 120 lbs, my heaviest was 130. I LOVE food and can’t seem to control what I eat. I will never want to give up hot cheetos, and I love eating the fat off of meat, and I hate to excercise..it doesn’t make me feel good at all. I would like to make more healthy stuff though but I don’t have the funds cuz I find healthier is more expensive. SO I buy great value stuff and lotsa top ramen or those skillet dinners. I make chicken a lot and rice(spanish rice, chipotle rice), for breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, has browns), sometimes that special K haha omg so as you can see I need major advice. I was trying to see how to message you privately but oh well haha… tell me what you think and any advice will help :)
And I have a lot to say about this, so here I go.

A smoothie probably would help, but that’s one more thing for me to make in the morning hahaha.
Yeah, I have a lot of problems swallowing pills, I have a pretty sensitive gag reflex and the smell of the multi-vitamin tends to get to me too. I can’t hide it in my food though cause I literally have to chew everything (even ice cream & frozen yogurt) My brain is ridiculous.

I know a lot of people use lemon juice, but I, personally, put the seed back in and put it in a baggy. The seed helps it from turning brown so fast. The do still get a little brown, but mainly just a little on the top that you can easily scoop out.
Also, even though I’m only having an 1/8 I usually go through 1/2 an avocado a day because of me, Husband, mom & dad all eating it. hahahaha

Psssssst Matt, I have an answer. For the corn syrup question, screw the trains. they can just wait for each other!
Anyway, corn syrup is different then high fructose corn syrup in that high fructose corn syrup has, well, more fructose, and hfcs are therefore much sweeter. It is nearly impossible to avoid things that have corn syrup (not HFCs), so while I alway say stay way from high fructose corn syrup, for this (corn syrup) I would say use in moderation only.
So. HFCs = no, never. Corn Syrup = lite use, in moderation only.
Basically, the more whole foods/real food in your diet the better. So ingredient wise, your food should have words that you can read & that can be found in nature (there isn’t a corn syrup plant, so it’s a processed food, so just be careful)

HFCs = High Fructose Corn Syrup. Which means Corn Syrup with more fructose then regular corn syrup.
The reason it’s bad. It’s synthetic. Your body can’t process it. Which means it just sticks around. There is a lot of scientific debate about HFCs and if they are bad for you or not. The ones who say it’s fine for you, do admit that it’s a LOT sweeter then sugar, which makes your body crave it and makes you want to eat more, thus making you gain more weight.
Companies started using HFCs over sugar when the price on sugar was raised (I don’t remember exactly what happened there) and they could use high fructose corn syrup for a fraction of the price. And we all know they are all about the bottom line. Also, to have a product that causes an addiction is nice for them too *coughBASTARDScough*
However, I have a more personal story about it. When I gave up HFCs, I lost 5 lbs. I didn’t do ANYTHING else, just stopped eating food with hfcs. That’s it. 5 lbs and 1 inch off the biggest part of my stomach. To me, that’s proof, but some people are still skeptical.
The thing is, is no matter how you look at it, it’s obviously easier for your body to process real foods (even sugar) then something that is a chemical.
As trackmyfit said, HFCs are the cancer of the food world. And I LOVE that statement. They are everywhere and in WAY too many things, you literally have to read EVERY label.
Edit: Husband wants to change it to the STD of the food world, so whatever floats your boat :-P

Yeah, my husband is not American. Hahaha, even though his accent has toned down a little some people still give me looks when he talks, like they can’t understand him, which is ridiculous. Also, he still does very Scottish/British things.
He’s from a really small town in England, that’s on the border of Scotland, which is why I feel like he’s more Scottish some days.

Ok, as long as you know you need to eat 1200 calories a day, we’re good, no hand smacks necessary. But I do understand the down motivation. This month has been really hard in the motivational department, especially with being sick & periods from hell haha

Whats the point of being upset? It actually just messes with your weight loss more. So I’m really happy I didn’t gain, so I’m still going in the right direction.
